About this site
This is a personal web page. I am solely responsible for the content published here. The opinions expressed are mine alone and may not reflect those of third parties.
Purpose and content
I'm currently doing research in Differential Geometry. However, I've been developing my career as a software engineer for the past decade. The main purpose of this website is to provide an overview of these two aspects of my career. Nevertheless, I will also devote some space to sharing opinions, ideas, and projects on topics I'm passionate about. Among them, in no particular order:
- Mathematics.
- Programming and computers.
- Software development (≠ programming).
- Electronics.
- Rubik's "cubes".
and probably others.
With respect to language use, there will certainly be errors. Most of the posted writings will be in their very first draft, since the alternative would be never publishing them. I apologize in advance. Any correction, comment, or suggestion is welcome.
Philosophy
The main value driving the design of this site is respect. Secondly, a touch of minimalism. These values strongly influence both the design and the content.
Design
This site is intentionally designed to be readable. There are no flashy animations, image effects, or 3D rendering. By default, no JavaScript is loaded. When it is, it will be on a separate page and the user will be informed. In that case, the JavaScript will contain only the code necessary for the page’s purpose; no more, no less. Also, the weight of the pages is proportional to their content.
The site is designed to be easily readable by humans with a single cURL call. By default, a small CSS file is loaded to improve the reading and navigation experience, as well as to give a personal touch. However, the page should remain perfectly readable without it.
In addition, on the client side, there are no cookies, local storage, or tracking of any kind. Your data, as well as your computational power, is yours, and I have no right to take it. However, some basic analytics may run on the server side, since I am the owner of that information.
Artificial Intelligence usage
This website is written on a laptop. This laptop, like most (if not all), decides how to manage its battery charge based on statistics. Therefore, strictly speaking, there is AI involved in the process of writing this website.
Similarly, some of the images I upload here are taken with a mobile phone or a digital camera manufactured after 2010. As a result, color adjustment and other parameters are automatically decided based on statistics. So, yes: strictly speaking, there is AI involved in the process of image creation.
Besides, no LLMs are used to generate text.
The main reason is that I want updating this site to be a writing exercise for myself. This goes against the philosophy of respect. That's why, whenever I have the time, I use online dictionaries and grammar correctors, which also make decisions based on statistics.
In summary, is this site built using AI? The answer is: Yes, in the same way websites were in 2010. More or less.
